This Privacy Policy explains how AeroWX ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the AeroWX mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the App's features:
Location data
When you grant location permission, the App reads your device's current location to sort nearby airports and display relevant weather. Location data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Subscription and purchase data
Subscription management is handled entirely by RevenueCat, Inc. When you subscribe, Apple processes payment and RevenueCat receives a receipt to validate your entitlement. RevenueCat assigns you an anonymous identifier — it is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID. We receive only the subscription status (active, expired, trial). Weather and aviation data requests
When you view a station's weather, the App fetches METAR, TAF, and NOTAM data from our backend server. These requests contain only the ICAO station identifier you are looking up — no personal data or device identifiers are included or stored in our server logs.
Diagnostic crash data
If the App crashes, Apple may collect crash logs on our behalf through App Store Connect. These logs contain device model, iOS version, and a stack trace. No personally identifiable information is included. You can opt out of sending diagnostics in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- Your name, email address, or Apple ID
- Precise location stored on our servers
- Browsing history or behaviour profiles
- Data from third-party ad networks
3. How We Use Information
- Location — sorted airport list and home screen proximity display (on-device only)
- Subscription status — to unlock Pro features and display your subscription state in Settings
- Station requests — to fetch and cache weather data for the airports you view
- Crash data — to identify and fix stability issues
4. Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store — processes all payments and manages subscriptions. Apple Privacy Policy

- Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) — source of METAR, TAF, and SIGMET data. Operated by NOAA; no personal data is sent to them.
- FAA NMS API — source of NOTAM data. Operated by the FAA; requests contain only ICAO identifiers.
We do not use analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel) or advertising networks.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Weather data is cached locally on your device and is automatically evicted when it becomes stale. There is no user account to delete. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. If you have an active subscription, your purchase history is managed by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
6. Children's Privacy
AeroWX is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Data Security
All communication between the App and our backend servers uses HTTPS with TLS. We do not store personal data on our servers, which reduces the risk of data breaches affecting our users.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is generally no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. For subscription-related data held by Apple or RevenueCat, please refer to their respective privacy policies and support channels.

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
